After messing around with the demo a bit (I did not realize you could switch modes with Battlefield on this until today) I have to say it has hit my expectations based on what little the special demo had to offer. The game looks very nice on a 3DS and plays rather well.
The issues I had with it comes in the controls. While they work, the poor control stick just does not have the kind of precision you can get on a fight stick or an actual controller. I found myself usually using another move than the one I actually want. There’s the other issue where the grab button is for me, but I’m going to assume you can pick what buttons do what in the actual game.
The other, and it’s probably more of a personal issue for me than anything game changing, a tiny screen with a lot going on makes it hard to tell what’s going on, even with the black outlines on your characters. Now mind, I was playing it on a regular 3DS, it might be a lot better on an XL.
But yea, that’s my first impression on Smash with the Demo so far. Looks good, plays decently, definite game to have for long trips or to practice on when you’re not near a WiiU.
